Zahravi Pharmaceutical Company was established in 1986 and commenced production in 1992 with the inauguration of its manufacturing facility on a 113,302 m² site with 28,000 m² of built-up area near Tabriz, Iran. Over more than three decades of activity, Zahravi has become one of the leading players in Iran’s pharmaceutical industry by adhering to international quality standards and leveraging advanced technologies.
Relying on its scientific expertise and accumulated experience, Zahravi today is recognized among the select companies capable of producing critical and highly specialized medicines in Iran—many of them for the first time domestically. In certain therapeutic areas, Zahravi remains the first and only manufacturer in the country, ensuring safe and sustainable access to essential treatments. Notable achievements include the production of Tacrolimus under the brand name Cograft® and Soft Gelatin Cyclosporine under the brand name Iminoral®, both of which have consolidated the company’s position in the field of transplant and immunosuppressive medicines. In 2019, Iminoral® was registered as a knowledge-based (nano-technology) product, marking the first pharmaceutical product of this category in East Azerbaijan Province.
In addition, Zahravi has developed advanced biotechnology production lines and achieved significant milestones such as producing recombinant sterile medicines, including Filgrastim in prefilled syringes, and establishing a biotechnology API production line. These initiatives represent major steps toward national self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on imports, while paving the way for the future development of other complex biological products.
